Kia Motors

Kia Motors Corporation, a maker of quality vehicles for the young-at-heart, has come a long way since its foundation in 1944. In 2013, its global vehicle sales reached around 2.7 million units. Kia has been partnering with the Australian Open since 2002 to help raise its brand awareness and provide added momentum to its transformation into one of the leading global automotive brands.

Sporting World

Having sponsored the Australian Open since 2002, Kia Motors is once again thrilled to be the Major Sponsor of the Australian Open 2014. Kia Motors looks forward to playing its key role in supporting the players and promoting the growth of tennis worldwide through numerous on- and off-site activities.

Kia Motors has been responsible for providing the best transportation services since day one of its partnership with the Australian Open. Every year, more than 100 new Kia vehicles are supplied to the Australian Open to ensure the safe and convenient transportation of the world's top tennis players, VIPs, officials and media during the tournament. In addition to supplying courtesy vehicles, Kia Motors also displays its latest product line-up around Melbourne Park and live site in host city, Melbourne, to showcase its cutting edge technology and state-of-the-art styling to international audiences.

The opportunity to provide fun and interactive programs for fans around Melbourne Park has been a rewarding experience for Kia Motors. Kia has been executing a number of programs (Kia Amateur Australian Open, Kia Lucky Drive to Australia) to bring fans together and provide an unforgettable experience during the tournament. This time, Kia introduces a new global online competition called ‘Kia Greatest Fan’ to find the most energetic fans not only from the Melbourne Park but also from all around the world. This program is based on the ‘Kia Fan of the Day’ competition which has been promoted at the tournament for the past few years. But now, everyone in the world can participate via online channels and social media including Kia’s Facebook Page, the Australian Open website and more.

In addition to extending the period and scope of its core sponsorship agreement with the Australian Open through 2018, Kia has teamed up with other invigorating sports for the young-at-heart to further drive home the company's youthful and dynamic brand identity. The Kia World Extreme Games, NBA and sponsorship of the world's famous tennis player Rafael Nadal, are some examples.

Kia Motors has also taken a prominent role in promoting world's most beloved sport of football. As an official automotive partner of FIFA (Federation Internationale de Football Association), the world's football governing organization, Kia will be sponsoring the 2014, 2018 and 2022 FIFA World Cup™ and other FIFA competitions. Also as an UEFA (Union of European Football Association) EUROTOP Partner, Kia Motors will play an integral part in staging the UEFA European Football Championship in France in 2016.
