Tennis Australia, in association with Frontier Touring, is thrilled to announce that American rock band Jimmy Eat World will headline at Australian Open 2017 on Friday 20 January.

As part of the Australian leg of their world tour, and their only Melbourne show, Jimmy Eat World will join a star-studded line-up at the first Grand Slam of the year.

“We couldn't be happier to announce Australian shows! Looking forward to rocking the Australian Open 2017,”said Jim Adkins, Jimmy Eat World.

With the highly anticipated AO line-up still to be announced, music fans will be in for a treat as Melbourne’s biggest party, The Open Sessions, comes to life on the Australian Open Live Stage.

“We’re extremely excited to announce international superstars, Jimmy Eat World, as part of our blockbuster week of entertainment,” said Australian Open Tournament Director Craig Tiley.

“We have some massive changes for Australian Open 2017, moving the entertainment stage from Grand Slam Oval to Birrarung Marr to serve up more bands, more space and to offer a bigger and better experience for fans.

“The list of bands that have graced the main stage of the Australian Open over the years is almost as impressive as our list of champions and this year will be no different,” said Tiley.

Music fans will be able to attend live music offerings on the weekend leading into the Australian Open for free.

Access to the Australian Open Live Stage from 16–22 January will require a ground pass.
